Everything tastes better when made from scratch!
12 tablespoons very cold unsalted butter
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1/3 cup very cold vegetable shortening
6 to 8 tablespoons ice water
Combine all ingredients in a food processor, first dry then butter and shortening, then ice water. When crumbly dough forms, knead by hand on a floured surface. Divide in two and roll out 9 inch rounds to use for top and bottom crusts.
